Access Engineering PLC was the Gold Sponsor for Stat Day 2012, which was held for the 10th consecutive year at the Professor V.K. Samaranayake Auditorium on the 28th of June 2012.
Organised by the University of Colombo, Stat Day is the main highlight of the ‘Stat Circle’ event calendar. The Stat Circle is a student society of the university, whose primary objective is to enhance the statistical knowledge of students and the community as well as communicate and exchange ideas with other societies, universities and the industry.
Dr. Prabath Karunanayake, Head of Human Resources, made a presentation on ‘Research and statistics from the construction and HR viewpoint’ during which he highlighted the transformation of the construction industry towards scientific decision making for organizational development and the importance of research inputs for HRM and HRD practices in Sri Lanka.
Dr. Karunanayake also touched on the theme of the event ‘Statistics for Innovation & Business Improvement’ by highlighting the best global statistical practices in the corporate sector and built a significant argument against the notion of ‘not everything that counts can be counted’.« Previous Next »
