Access initiates Ibbagamuwa road development project

Access Engineering PLC, the leading value engineering solutions provider in Sri Lanka, successfully held a ground-breaking ceremony to inaugurate the rehabilitation and improvement project of the Ibbagamuwa – Kubukgate – Madagalla Road (Route B159) on 21st May 2012.

Present at the event was the Honorable Deputy Minister for Ports & Highways Mr. Nirmala Kothalawala,Honorable Minister for Culture & Arts Mr. T B Ekanayake and Honorable Minister for Indigenous Medicine Mr. Salinda Dissanayake,together with officials from the RDA, Access and various other distinguished invitees, dignitaries and well-wishers.

Access Engineering entered into an agreement with the Road Development Authority (RDA) to revamp the 34 kilometer road, a project that is being implemented under the Mahinda Chinthana vision of rebuilding the futurethat is financed by the Peoples’ Bank through the Government of Sri Lanka.

The project, which is valued at rupees 2.86 Billion,commenced on the 8th of March 2012, and is scheduled for completion by the 9th of March 2014. The road carriageway will be widened to an average width of 8 meters and will be provided with asphalt surfacing that is 8 meters wide.

The development of Ibbagamuwa – Kubukgate – Madagalla road by Access Engineering will offer residents and commuters in these areas a better transportation solution for goods,services and everyday travel as well as provide more investment opportunities for business ventures and the overall progression of towns and villages for future generations to come.
