An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the shareholders of Access Engineering Ltd. was held at the Kings Court, Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, Colombo 2 on the 18th May, 2012 at 10.00 a.m. and the sole purpose of this meeting was to adopt the resolution on change of status of the company from 'Limited' to 'PLC' in terms of Section 8 (1) and 11 (3) read together with Section 92 (1) (g) of the companies Act, No.7 of 2007, consequent to the shares of the Company being listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange and the resolution was passed unanimously at the meeting. Mr. Sumal Perera – Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Christopher Joshua – Executive Director, Mr. Ranjan Gomez – Non-Executive Director, Mr. Rohana Fernando – Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Shevantha Mendis – Executive Director/Director – Business Development, Mr. Gration Fernando - Executive Director/Director – Projects, Prof. Malik Ranasinghe – Independent Non-Executive Director and Mr. Niroshan Gunaratne – Independent Non-Executive Director of Access Engineering were present at the head table.

Access Engineering Ltd. (AEL) purchased 30 TATA Tipper Trucks for transporting aggregates for Road Projects in the North and East.

Mr. Gahanath Pandithage (CEO) Dimo, presented these trucks to Mr. Rohana Fernando (COO) Access Engineering Ltd. at a ceremony held at the Hyde Park Grounds in Union Place on the 4th of May, 2012.

These trucks will be used for transporting soil, sand, stones etc and will be operating in the sites where AEL are currently undertaking road projects in the North and East. This initiative will boost the many projects in the area and increase the capacity and productivity of the works being carried out.

Other distinguished members present at the ceremony were the managing staff of Access Engineering Ltd. and DIMO.

The UK Funded Regional Bridge Project Phase II contract signing agreement between Maybey Bridge Ltd. and the Ministry of Highways (MOH) was ceremonially held at the Ministry of Highways Sethsiripaya on the 26th of April, 2012. Distinguished guests that included Mr. R. Premasiri – Secretary Ministry of Highways, Mr. Alex Cole – Mabey Bridge Ltd., Mr. R. M. Amarasekara – Additional Director General, Mr.W.E.S.K. Fernando – Director Training graced the contract signing ceremon

Access Engineering Ltd. will serve as the subcontractor for Mabey Bridge Ltd. For some of the bridge construction works and the project will consist of the construction of 104 bridges around the island. The total value for the UK Funded Regional Bridge Project Phase II is 45 Million Pounds.

The maiden trading of shares of Access Engineering Ltd. (AEL) took place on 27th March 2012 on the Colombo Stock Exchange and made a solid start, with its share price peaking to Rs.29.30 before closing at Rs.26.30 up by Rs.1.30 from its IPO price. Chairman of AEL Mr. Sumal Perera together with the Board of Directors and Managers to the issue, NDB Investment Bank was present on the floor of the Colombo Stock Exchange to witness the debut ceremony.

The credible performance propelled Access Engineering Ltd. to the most valuable stock in the Construction and Engineering sector as well as the 17th most valuable overall with a market capitalization of Rs.26.3 billion

The contract for much anticipated Veyangoda Flyover was signed between Road Development Authority and the Centunion S.A, Spain during a function held on 13th March 2012. The scope of the project consists of construction of a 2 lane flyover over the railway lines at Veyangoda & It will take a new trace over the existing marshy lands. This flyover will bring great relief to the Veyangoda township plagued by traffic caused due to frequent closure of the railway crossing gates. Further it will bring great relief to commuters travelling through Veyangoda saving them precious hours and frustration of waits.

Access Engineering is proud to be entrusted partner subcontractor to Centunion S.A for the project. Centunion S.A will be responsible for supply of steel bridge superstore and Access will be responsible for the project management, designs, construction of all the local works including bridge erection.The distinguished gathering for the event included Mr. R. Premasiri – Secretary Ministry of Highways/ Chairman RDA, S. Weerasinghe – Director General RDA, Alejandro Vidaurreta – Director Centunion S. A. Access Engineering Ltd was represented by Mr. Shevantha Mendis – Director and he was proud signatory to the contract on behalf of Access Engineering Ltd.

Access Engineering Limited entered into a contract agreement with Road Development Authority (RDA) on the 29th of February, 2012 to rehabilitate and improve – Ibbagamuwa – Kubumkgete – Madagalle Road (B159) covering a distance of around 34 kilometers. Mr. Rohana Fernando, Director/COO Access Engineering Ltd. signed the Contract Agreement on behalf of Access Engineering Ltd.

Mr. R. W. R. Premasiri – Secretary to the Ministry of Ports & Highways, the Director General (RDA) and the Director of Works (RDA), Deputy General Manager of People's Bank and Mr. Christopher Joshua - Director Access Engineering Ltd. were among the distinguished gathering present at this occasion. Financial assistance for the project is provided by People's Bank.

Institute for Construction Training and Development (ICTAD) recently held their 2011 annual award ceremony for National Awards for Construction Excellence & Performance. The prestigious award ceremony was held at the Waters Edge on 29th December 2011. Access Engineering shone at this ceremony by winning three National Awards for Construction Performance, the winners of these accolades are selected through an evaluation of Organization Structure, Company Standards, Performance of the Project, Financial Ratios, Work Systems and etc.

Access Engineering Ltd. received the National Awards for the following projects; the construction of the Sangupiddy Bridge, Construction of the Nugegoda Flyover and the Construction of a Bridge across Maoya on Pannala – Maningamuwa – Mellawagedara Road.

The Batticaloa Water Supply project was ceremonially commissioned on the 19th October, 2011 by H.E. Mahinda Rajapakse – President of Sri Lanka with the participation of our Parliamentarian VIP's, officials from the National Water & Drainage Board and representatives of China Geo-Salcon- Access Joint Venture.

The project was funded by the Asian Development Bank together with the Government of Sri Lanka implemented through a 'Design-Build' type contract by National Water Supply & Drainage Board as the implementing agency. The project work was carried out in partnership with the China Geo Engineering Corporation of China and the Salcon Engineering Berhard of Malaysia.

The project now provides potable water to a population of 246, 000 individuals in 106 GND's in Manmunai North, Kattankudi, Manmunai Pattu, Eravur Town and the Eravur Pattu Divisional Secretary areas.
