Apprenticeship Program For Ex- LTTE Cadres

Access Engineering successfully completed a program in partnership with the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), where rehabilitated ex-LTTE cadres from Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center were trained in masonry and carpentry to help them integrate in to society while adding skilled labor to the construction industry.

The apprenticeship program trained 14 persons in masonry and another 17 persons in carpentry. The NVQ framework provides persons who have undergone formal institutional training and competencies acquired through informal non-institutional means with a nationally recognized certificate. In addition to initiating and assisting in the training program, Access Engineering provided tool kits for the trainees at the certificate awarding ceremony which was held in 29th October 2013
